DAP national chairperson Lim Guan Eng has initiated legal action against PAS lawmaker Siti Mastura Muhammad for alleging he is related to Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) leader Ong Boon Hua, popularly known by his nom de guerre Chin Peng, and Singapore’s first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

In a statement, Lim said he has appointed lawyer Sankara Narayanan Nair to initiate criminal action and legal proceedings against Siti Mastura (above, right) who is the Kepala Batas MP.

The Bagan MP also called out PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin to state their stand publicly on Siti Mastura’s “lies”.

“I have appointed Sankara as my lawyer to initiate criminal action and legal proceedings against Siti Mastura for her hate speech against me, which is full of outrageous lies and malicious slander.

“Siti Mastura made her hate speech at a PAS event in Kemaman on Nov 4,” Lim said.

During a PAS programme in Kemaman, Terengganu, Siti Mastura gave a speech where she claimed Lim was related to Chin Peng and “Lim Kuan Yew”.

She also claimed Lim is related to other DAP leaders such as party secretary-general Anthony Loke, Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming, Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham, and Seputeh Teresa Kok.

Following this, Lim gave the PAS leader until yesterday to furnish evidence in relation to her allegation.

Lim, who is a former finance minister, claimed that Siti Mastura was racist and extremist by using non-existent family ties to strike fear against DAP and the Chinese.

He also slammed her for refusing to show proof or apologising for making such claims.

“Equally concerning are PAS supporters’ attitude of continuing to support and praise Siti Mastura merely because her lies have caused anger among DAP leaders and supporters as well as ordinary Malaysians.

“PAS supporters are not bothered that she lied or made racist and extremist statements so long as it is against DAP leaders.

“For this reason, both PAS president Hadi and PN chairperson Muhyiddin must state their position publicly whether they stand together with the outrageous lies and malicious slander of Siti Mastura, or disagree with her, thus requiring that she correct her actions,” he said.
